Guest guest
Virginia, That is interesting that you are able to correspond the medication to your symptoms. I used to not pay much attention to the side effects listed on medication bottles. I definitely do now. I did have a similar experience, but after I was diagnosed (thank goodness, or I would be somewhat vengeful). I developed lower extremity edema and congestive heart failure a year or so ago from the large amount of narcotics required to manage my pain. The doctor ordered a diuretic named Lasix, or Furosemide, to pull off the large fluid overload I had. Within 48 hours I had a Pancreatitis attack almost as bad as the first one I had. I then remembered reading that Lasix can cause Pancreatitis. I called the doctor and discontinued the Lasix, but still had to endure the severe Lasix induced exacerbation of Pancreatitis. That is called Iatrogenic caused Pancreatitis. I list Lasix as an allergy now, so I never receive it again. I also wanted to tell you how nice it was to see you post after such a long time. Sometimes when I think the message board isn't serving a purpose because so few people post, your post reminds me that there may be more people reading the posts than I think. It is just nice to hear from them every now and then. :-) Blessings, Karyn E. , RN Exec. Director, PAI Indianapolis, IN The PAI serves as a means of support, information, and advocacy.
