Guest guest
Dear Patty, My heart just breaks for you and Cassie. I think it's easier for us, as parents, to carry the burden of pain than to see our babies suffer. What a miracle you experienced on your return trip to the ER! Isn't there a saying about it being darkest before the dawn? To find a med. care worker with CP AND an informed PA . . . it must be your pot of gold. My sister was a PA and I know how knowledgeable and compassionate some can be. Not the same " attitude " as an MD. Can I ask an ignorant question please? What is a PCP? Is it Cassie's pediatric physician? Where I live, it can mean Pain Care Professional. Has Cassie ever seen a pain specialist? My cp/ap pain is managed by a wonderful pain doctor. She keeps me educated on the latest info. Write me if you want to discuss my experience with the pain clinic. I hope you found some relief when you first wrote on Saturday. I am so grateful to have a site like this. No one judges our rantings and ravings. And we can trust that no one will disbelieve our experiences. I will continue to pray for you both. You have my support. Hang in there,
Guest guest
Thank you for your support. It really meant alot to me. PCP is Priimary Care Physician. I have been tyring for six month to find her a pain specialist here in our area that will treat a child. It's so weird, we have a childrens cancer treatment center her yet no pain specialist for kids. We are going to Portalnd in June to see her GI, soonest he could see her. will see if her can refer he to someone there. It's so hard because she also has ADHD and a non-verbal learning disorder. With havingf CP Dr's don't want her on any meds for that. Says her stomach doesn't need anymore to iritate it. So a day off from school for Dr's appointment really takes it's toll on her schooling as she already misses enough. Yes, they do supply her with a tutor for time she misses 2 hours for each day she loses due to CP but they only care about get here work caught up. No whether she understands the work presented. Cassie is doing much better this week though I know that she is pretending not to hurt so she can go to school during the day. Thanks again so much for your concern. and god bless Patty Hurst Bangor, ME Maine State Rep PAI
