I read on here about a year ago or so...to drink something like SlimFast or

similar. When I asked my son's dr about it, she agreed that those kinds of

" meal-replacement " drinks are usually a great source of vitamins and minerals

he might be missing otherwise, due to his limited diet. Cameron and I both

drink SlimFast daily, however they do not seem to get us thru to the AM like

they used to, when we drink them at bedtime.

The mornings are the pits because I know Cameron feels his lousiest when he

first gets up. He has to get up almost 3 hours before school, so he can eat,

digest, use the bathroom, and more mornings than not, take a hot shower to

help him relax and focus on getting on top of his minor chronic pain so he

can go to school that day. Some days we are successful, some days we are

not. But at least our lives allow me to get him going, THEN I come back from

dropping him off at school and spend a little time on getting ME going.

(LOL) I know my husband gets tired of hearing how lousy we feel in the AMs,

but we really do enjoy watching the sun rise from the deck and we usually

have time to wrestle with the cat and a dog or two.

Life with pancreatitis is not impossible. It's just not fair. Nor is it

desirable. Nor is it something I would wish on my worst enemy. But having

said all that, at least my son and I have one another to " bounce off of "

emotionally and sympathetically.

Sorry to rattle. It's just been " one of those days " around here already!
