Guest guest
Paget, Thanks for the word of enthusiastic support. I want to extend the claim to fame for having Dr. Sutherland as the 2004 keynote Speaker to first and foremost the members who so bravely forged forward to new and unchartered territory. This wouldn't be a reality had it not been for their willingness to fight for their lives risking all uncertainty of success. Knowing that so many factors played into the outcome, they each made a decision that anything would be better than their present circumstances. I think of particularly the very first patient who, with Pancreatic Cancer, essentially gave their life for the future of the Islet Transplant Program. I also want to publicly thank Gail West, Midwest Regional Representative, for all she continues to do to bring the goals of the PAI to fruition. Her continued perseverance in sending emails to Anne Marie encouraging Dr. Sutherland's involvement was very instrumental in making this dream a reality. I believe they say it was, " Many People, Many Faces, One Voice. " Blessings. Karyn , RN Founder / Executive Director http://www.pancassociation.org 1- / KarynWms@... Please disregard my previous mail asking for more information. I will start e-mailing and calling people I know who have had the pancreatectomy and islet cell transplant. I am looking forward to being there. I will get back with you on how many and who will be joining us. Love, Shirley
