Hospital stay

Well Dallas had his first hospital stay in a year and a half last

week. Luckily he was only in for 3 nights at our local hospital. He

had bronchitis and his ped wanted to keep him in for ventolin masks

and observation. His brother was jsut as sick, but since Dal is the

cfer, they admitted him. He certainly didn't like the stay, but I

was expecting it. I'm awfully glad we got on this new ped's patient

list. Most other docs just panic and send him to the city. She

knows CF a bit more and knew she didn't need to ship him off by

ambulance to the Children's, 2 hours from home.

He's doing great this week. Both boys are rather healthy. He's back

on Ventolin and atrovent, and just finished his antibiotics yesterday

(ceftin). Boy what a fight that was. I didn't expect a med that

smelled so good to be such a fight to get into the kid. Seems he's

had an adversion to oral meds since he started on ADEK..now isn't

THAT awful stuff??

We've been putting it in his bedtime bottle, otherwise we'd never get

it into him.

Does anyone know if there's anything wrong with doing that? I hope

it's not affecting it's potency. He always finsihes the bottle, so

he's getting the full dose.

Anyways..that's what's new here. Colder than all get out...-40 with

the windchill..though today seems to be shaping up to be a lot nicer

day.

Good luck to everyone in their battles against this disease...

I'm thinking of you during your surgeries Becky...you're an

insperation to us all..you're such a fighter.

Hugs to all,

Carla
