Guest guest
dear, Good luck with this last attempt! You have been so aggressive about trying to find someone who can handle your care that surely you should strike gold this time. You must be able to recite your history and do your initial introduction by heart at this point. You're in my prayers that this one works out. I know you and your father are very close and that you must be anxious about his surgery, even knowing by your own experience that it will be okay. It is different when it is a close loved one. I went through the same apprehension when my father had his second heart attack and had his pacemaker inplanted five years ago. He is doing well with his and we will be celebrating his 80th birthday later this year. Your dad will also be in my prayers. Take care and give Taney a hug for me, if you can catch him, that is! With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina Southeastern Representative PAI, Intl. This wed my dad goes in the hospital to have a pacemaker implanted. Having gone through the surgery myself.. 3 times, twice in the past 2 years I know what it entails. It doesn't matter though, it all seems major when its one of your parents or child. I am a daddy's girl. So if you would remember him in your prayers this week I would appreciate it...and yes, Jerry, before you remind me I will be using your site Take care. Guest guest
, I behind on my e-mail, as I been helping my daughter get ready to move into he new house. Things are coming along very well and is starting to look like her house and not someone else's. I have you dad in my prayers and hope all went well for him with his pacemaker. I also hope all went well with you new GI doc. It's really hard to find a good GO doc, who understands the pains of pancreatitis and what we all go thru. So far, I haven't had much luck finding one either. I hope this finds you and your family doing well. Take Care, Louie in WV a quick update, prayer request Hi: Well, its time tomorrow for GI number 5. Number 3 in the past 4 months. As many of you know, I have had to search for a new GI to handle my case locally. There in only one GI listed in my provider directory in Augusta GA..and I have never heard of him. Personally I like the one I had been using in Augusta but since he is not a preferred provider with my insurance, and I have Medicare secondary, in order for them to pay I have to use someone that is. I had been paying the difference myself but can no longer afford to do that. The difference in charges was getting VERY costly. I'm not sure WHY they do not participate with SC BC/BS State Health Plan..they actually pay better than GA State BC. but ther is some kind of " new " (as of last year) rule in effect that says that if you are in GA and a a preferred provider with BC of GA ..STATE health plan then you cannot be one with SC BC State. Its weird. I'm not even sure how it all works. My cardiologist in not listed in my directory, yet he accepts my insurance and at the preferred rate... At any rate, I looked all around for a new GI.. as I said, ONE listed in Augusta, one listed in Aiken..which is NOT an option..I know him and he is entirely too busy and is more for general GI problems. That left Columbia SC. I tried 2 different groups. One was " OK " but I was sick at the time and his major concern was that Dr Hawes was prescribing my pain meds and I needed pain mgmt to do that.. totally ignored that fact that I was in pain and extremely dehyrated. He did refer me to a pain doc. GI number 2.. JERK. enough said.. papers in mail to file complaint. Did tell me that the pain doc I was going to did not like CP pts and teneded to 'write them off " .. trouble is he was right. When I asked him to take over managing my pain meds.. he refused and said I neede to continue to get them from MUSC....3 hrs away! All he was intested in was trying a pain block that I had had before x3 with no success..guess they pay more. Which leads me to now. I saw a pain doc in Augusta..again, not listed with insurance but they said they accept it. He was wonderful.. listened to me.. complimented me on my med history sheet I carry..its one page that simply lists name,DOB, meds, history, allergies, surgeries. no details, just something they can look over and not have to read a book.Asked if I was always that organized...yes. He did ask about what caused the pancreatitis..and when I told him divisum and sphincter of oddi dysfunction he said I obviously knew alot about my diseases.. (there was more to it than that answer but I trying to be somewhat brief). In short he said yes, without hesitation that he would write my pain meds. he also found a problme with my back. I have had back pain for years.. really worse the last year..its what lead me to have lap surgery in Oct to look for adhesions, endometriosis. I was diagnosed with intersitial cystitis. Anyway, he examined me and noticedt that my right leg in remarkably weaker than my left. An x-ray revealed that L5 and my sacrum are fused and that I have arthtitis in my spine. He said he may order PT for my back or do a trigger point injection. I think I may call a friend of mine that is a chiropractor first. At least I finally know the real cause of the pain. So thats the latest on me..one last thing and I'll quit typing I promise. This wed my dad goes in the hospital to have a pacemaker implanted.
