Ethne,

If you go to this link, it will tell you all about bacterial overgrowth.

http://www.medinfo.ufl.edu/cme/grounds/toskes2/intro.html

The article was written by the gastroenterology doctor that my

local gastro wants me to see at UofFL/Shands Hospital in

Gainesville. I understand he is an authority on malabsorption in

addition to pseudocysts.

As I said earler, my doctor " told " me he thought I had this...this

was his explanation for my significant weight loss. But he did

not do any of the tests mentioned in the article prior to starting

me on antiobiotics, and the hospital bacteria test showed only

" trace " amounts. I believe my weight loss was due to my

malabsorption problems combined with the uncontrolled onset

of diabetes.

It is a very valid problem, though, for certain individuals, and if

one has it, can be corrected with appropriate treatment.

With hope and prayers,

Heidi

it? I had never heard of it until reading it here. Also, how is it

diagnosed?

Ethne
