Guest guest
Why does it seem as if the residents have such a terrible attitude? It seems like they come in with a chip on their shoulder. Do they teach this in medical school? Lori in Florida n, Re: Hi! Oh n, I am so glad you wrote this about lungs sounding clear. Seems everytime somebody listens to he " sounds clear " , but to me he sounds horrible, or he has a junky cough, or something just isnt right. I wish the docs could read your post cause if a nurse listens to him, a doc, or a resident ( and I dont like many residents, no offense to anyone here), he sounds different to all of them. So frustrating. Hope all is great with you, hugs, Take care, , mommy of 4, 3 wcf, a g-tube and his wonderful personality, , 17, Caleb, 7, and ,
Guest guest
I had one resident, pediatric I think, wanted to stick when he was real little, I told her to call the IV team, and to apply a hot pack because he is a hard stick. She had such an attitude, told me we didnt have time to wait for the IV team, now mind you, this is after we just sat for 6 hours waiting in admissions, no meds, no treatment, and now all of a sudden it was imperative that the IV be started then. I asked her if she had kids, " NO I DONT " was the answer, so I very calmly, (nah, just kidding, couldnt have been calm if I was paid at this point) told her that when she had kids she could allow anyone to stick them as much as they wanted, but my son wasnt a pin cushion for a resident in learning, needless to say, she didnt come back to his room anytime soon. Gotta love that. Take care, , mommy of 4, 3 wcf, a g-tube and his wonderful personality, , 17, Caleb, 7, and ,

When was going in for one of her many surgeries. I had a resident anestitiologist come in to look at 's arm to see if she had good veins on her arm when they put the IV in. We had used that cream to numb her skin so she wouldn't feel the poke. Well she royally chewed us out for using the cream because it cause the veins to collapse and she said never use this stuff again. I never said anything to her but after we left I made sure we never had her again. I was just new at this then and let things slide. I don't anymore! I know better to speak my mind and let them know exactly how I feel our they will try to walk all over you. I know now that this is my child and you are not touching her unless I say so! I highly recommend everyone to be that way because a mother knows what is going on more then any resident does! Deb A
