Guest guest
Oh n, I am so glad you wrote this about lungs sounding clear. Seems everytime somebody listens to he " sounds clear " , but to me he sounds horrible, or he has a junky cough, or something just isnt right. I wish the docs could read your post cause if a nurse listens to him, a doc, or a resident ( and I dont like many residents, no offense to anyone here), he sounds different to all of them. So frustrating. Hope all is great with you, hugs, Take care, , mommy of 4, 3 wcf, a g-tube and his wonderful personality, , 17, Caleb, 7, and ,

Her problem is the airways are always so narrow that the junkiness/croupiness comes from the upper resp and not the lungs. In s case he on several occaisions has sounded " clear " but after xrays they have always found pneumonia. Guest guest
When my daughter was diagnosed at 5 mos we took her to the ER because she was listless and wouldn't eat. The triage nurse told me that she sounded fine and was breathing ok, so they took her back and did an x-ray and she had pneumonia and a collapsed lung! Boy was I glad we took her in, we had the usual scenario with her Pediatrician, she'll just be little, she just has a cold, she's just sickly, she will be ok, and when we took her to the ER and after she was admitted and did the test to " rule out " CF, we checked off all of the symptoms one by one. So yes, please get an x-ray and don't always believe they sound clear. Trish Mom to Presley 7 w/cf, and Dylan w/cf , short gut, and asthma. Re: n, Re: Hi! Guest guest
Dont you just love the " rule out " thing, seemed everytime I turned around they came up with another test to rule something else out. I was almost relieved when s sweat test came back positive, that way they didnt have to rule out anything, just had to help me get him better, and show me the ropes of what to do for him. Come to think of it Trish, when was about 4 months old, we took him to the ER for his breathing, they said he was clear then too, told me to keep his GI appt because of the reflux, and sent us on our way. Less than a month later he was diagnosed. Then to make it even better, the nurse that took care of us (said lightly) in the ER that night walked by us when we were getting the second sweat test, you know the one to verify the first, looked at us and had the gall to say " yep, thats what I thought it was " , well if that is what she thought, I am guessing that he would have been better off if she would have said something then, but hey what do I know, I am only the mommy. Have a great day. Take care, , mommy of 4, 3 wcf, a g-tube and his wonderful personality, , 17, Caleb, 7, and ,
