Guest guest
When we went to Florida in 2001 the clinic nurse called the vest company and they were able to get a vest from a place in Florida and it was there waiting on us. I would start with the clinic first and see what they can do or call the vest company and get their advice. Guest guest
We are going to Colorado for 9 days, and I was thinking the same thing, but decided that I would rather clap by hand, than to get any germs from a rented vest and end up REALLY sick, since those using vests could have pseudo, etc, even though they are SUPPOSE to be sanitized, I don't want to risk it! Just a thought. Melinda florida trip I am taking the kids to Florida for 6 days. What do I do about 's vest? I obviously can't take it with me. Is there a way to rent one? Any suggestions? Guest guest
You wouldn't be renting the vest -itself-Just the machine that you connect it to-take tour own vest folded in suitcase. I have lots of folks that do that. The company will try to help you have a machine on loan while her. (I am in Orlando,Fl to.). I am not sure if they have a rep lend you one of heir demo units or one fromt the cf clinic here-- NEMOURS CF CENTER. You should check withthew Vest number youhave. soooooooo, havee fun , it is getting warmer here now, but NOThot, soo have fun. Guest guest
When we went to Florida this past summer we left the vest behind and I took the Flutter instead. I did hand cpt and had him use the flutter afterward (which he doesn't use just right, so we couldn't depend on that alone) and his lungs stayed clear for the whole trip. Oddly, he had a cough when we left for Florida (we are in Ohio) but the cough disappeared in South Carolina. (We were driving.) I was amazed at how clear he was for the entire week in Florida. On the way home, he began coughing again in North Carolina. Odd. I was worried about the humidity making his cough worse, but that didn't happen at all. The main thing that I liked about doing the hand cpt was that I could do it anywhere. I did it at the beach, by the pool, and in the rental we stayed in. I didn't have to lug a machine around, and since it was only a week, my wrists didn't start throbbing too much. Of course, if your kid doesn't tolerate hand cpt very well, this wouldn't be much fun on vacation! ~ mommy to 3, 1 with cf > I am taking the kids to Florida for 6 days. What do I do about 's > vest? My granddaughter says the same thing ,I think it is the salt air Also , he was so very active ( bouncy:) here , that too helps the cough go away.. Glad it was so good. Come again. Stop by & say hi when you do :) LOVE & HUGS, grandmomBEv Re: florida trip When we went to Florida this past summer we left the vest behind and I took the Flutter instead. Guest guest
Sally- I just moved from Hawaii to California and if you are flying you most certainly can take the VEST with you! If you have the original box it came in and the packing material pack it into the box and find the manual and slip it into the box incase the airline has any questions. They can look at the manual and/or call the VEST company to alleviate any concerns. Just go to the airport a little earlier just incase I had absolutely NO problems w/ mine. I checked it on as baggage and that was that. If you are driving and have room in the vehicle just pack it up. Don't even have to use the box. Guest guest
Thanks for all the responses. I will call the vest co and see what they suggest. As for the flutter, she is unable to perform this. As for the cpt, I'm sure we could manage but she won't get the same result. I do still have the original box so I may just bring it with. Thanks, I can't wait for the warm weather, it is warmer today.....15 degrees above and it is snowing again. - Sally - Mom of Bri 14 JV All star amazing best cheerleader 12w/asthma 9w/cf & ds

Especially because she has been so sick all week and so needed the vest, can't imagine her being sick and not having it. - Sally - Mom of Bri 14 JV All star amazing best cheerleader 12w/asthma 9w/cf & ds
