Hi All,

I just wanted to send you a quick note letting you all know I found

out when my court date for the SSI hearing in front of a Federal Law

judge is. I go on June 2nd, but I don't know the time yet.

The " real " person I talked to didn't tell me, she only said it was

scheduled and they are going to send me some papers to fill out and I

need to go to downtown Dayton, Ohio.....oh my! I have to travel to

the " big city " from the little ole' hick town I live in. lol I will

let you all know any more details as they come available! This is

step 3, and I'm not sure what the next step is after this, but I do

know that if I'm turned down this time, I'm going to have to find a

real job. I know I'm really unable to work, but I need to provide

better for my girls.

Any advice & useful information anyone can send to me would be

greatly appreciated! Thanks alot! I can use all the help I can get!

Thanks for all your thoughts & prayers as this comes closer to the

court date! You are the greatest friends anyone could ask for!! Bye

for now. Lots of Hugs,

I'm a support group leader for a chronic pain condition called

fibromyalgia so I hear the girls talking about SSD all the time.

One thing they stress a lot is to get letters from people who knew

you before you were ill and since you have been ill. THey should

metnion how active you were, how you could garden with one hand tied

behind your back and run marathons backwards...I'm purposely writing

this silly for a smile...but seriously,..get them to say what they

saw you do in the past and how the illness has affected your life

now...how it has affected the kids etc.

You also need to write a letter that explains how the medical

condition has affected your life...life-altering changes...whatever

they might be...with pancreas attacks I get migraines, I cannot

function when I have either pain, but when I get both I cannot keep

my eyes open due to the photophobia because of the migraine....

things like when you have a pancreatitis attack you may have diarhhea

and vomitting and you cannot function under those condtions. ANd

that the attacks are so unpredictable that you could have one while

at work and be useless for the rest of the day and that it has been

your experience that employers usually want employees who can

actually DO the work for which they were hired, on a day to day basis

and you can't even promise hour to hour....

If you have been jopurnaling, take that with you...if you have been

writing your experiences here on the list, make copies to take with

you...perhpas leave off our responses so it doesn;t appear we are

coaching you one what to say and do...

I hope this info helps a bit...
