Guest guest
Hi, Fiona's problems still haven't been solved. The rash on the bum is almost gone, but the tummy aches are still there. Today we got the results from the anal swab and it showed heavy growth of Streptococci group B. A search for Streptococcus group B and CF wasn't successful, but I found many hints to the risk for newborns when the mother has a strep infection. Questions: What antibiotic can you recommend for a five year old to eradicate the strep? According to the lab it's resistent to Cefclor (our standard drug against Fiona's staph), Clarithromycin, Augmentin, Cipro and many more. Can the strep be the reason for Fiona's tummy ache (Becky already told me so)? Fiona has already lost two pounds since Christmas and she never had enough weight to give :-(( Do we have to worry about our baby on the way? Silke is five months pregnant. -- Peace Torsten, dad of Fiona 5wcf e-mail:torstenkrafft@... ______________________________________________________________________________ Kursiv, fett, bunt,... Guest guest
Torsten, Unless Silke gets the infection then the baby will be fine. Usually the infection doesn't affect the baby until birth and it is in the birth canal. As for the meds, try her usual routine and see if that kicks it. shannon mom to 3wcf and Brenna 7wocf Streptococci group B infection Hi, Fiona's problems still haven't been solved.
