Guest guest
I know when i talk to Noah dietition today she is going to ask me if i think we should keep going the whole milk route. I know he is not getting in as many cals as he was when he was on ensure plus, but that was easy 3 cans and he had more then enough cals. But he hardley ate any solid food. 4 ozs cups of yogurt was it. wouldn't even touch fruit snacks. Now that he is on whole milk he is eating solids. He is taking in about 900 cals right now we have only been at this for a little over a week. I am assuming it will take time for him to adjust and be able to take in more and more cals. I am thinking of asking her for duocal to add to his milk and yogurt. I have tried giving him ensure plus as a snack at nite but he just sspits it back in to the cup and say milk. So he knows now that, that is not milk. He used to say it was his milk. I just feel kind of bad trying to stick to this knowing he is getting in less cals then with ensure plus, but i really want him to start eating table foods more. I know if we could get him back on ensure plus somehow he would stop eating table foods again. OH what is a mother to do. mom to Breanna 11 wocf and Noah almost 3 wcf
Guest guest
Try Carnation Instant Breakfast and see how it affects what Noah eats. I do not know how it compares to Ensure either price wise or calorie wise but we add it to her whole milk to add in additional calories. My guess is that it is cheaper than Ensure and it definately adds some good calories. This is the only thing Emma will drink and she's a real fatty (around 30 pounds). I hope this helps. - mom to Emma 2 1/2 years w/cf and acid reflux and Isabelle 4 years wo/cf ________________________________________________________________ Sign Up for Juno Platinum Internet Access Today Only $9.95 per month! Guest guest
I have thought about that, but just the other day i tried giving him some nestle quik in his milk and he absolutly refuesed to drink it. I used to love both products and so does my dd. I am going to run out to the store later after i talk to his dietition. I figure if he doesn't drink it my dd will so atleast it won't go to waste. I keep reminding myself that at 18 i was under the 3% and they couln'd find anything wrong with me. I was just a small kid. So i uess it is in the genes. lol > Try Carnation Instant Breakfast and see how it affects what Noah eats.
