Chris

I wish you luck in your mission. It took me 15 years to convince

anybody that I had cp. In the meantime I read as much as I could

about it and worked out that until I actually needed digestive

enzymes, I had to take charge of the condition myself. If I had

listened to my own instincts and not decided that " they " must be

right, and that it was all in my head, I would probably not be as

badly off as I am now. Somewhere along the path, I actually managed

to get my GP to test for loss of fat (can't think of the correct

name for it), the result of which was the prescribing of Cotazym.

But it took a few more years to finally have a CAT scan, which

showed there was indeed something wrong. The only kind of advice I

have received that was of any use to me, was to have my ferritin

levels checked every 3 months. I have been diabetic for 48 years

and had cp for about 20. I am still convinced it was an adverse

reation to steroids that caused cp for me. Apart from the fact I

wasn't told I was being prescribed steroids at the time, none of the

medicos I have spoken to will accept that it was the steroids that

caused it. Seemingly I am one of the few who is particularly

sensitive to steroids.

Cheers

Ethne
