First, a stent is really small and to feel it from an external pupalation would really be an unusual event. The darker urine can be a problem. I suggest increasing your fluid intake so that within three days you are drinking your usual fluids and at least 64 ounces of water daily. This will not hurt you, it won't cost you, and it could help you under any circumstance. Keep in touch with your GI and even consider a second GI consultation. You need to have a good network of advice and help with this condition. Best wishes, Poncho - GA
Guest guest
I had a pancreatic stent placement Oct. 9th of 2002. It was suppose to come out three days later. I am begining to think the stent is still in. I have told my GI near Atlanta ,Ga. He order a CT Scan, but they did it without contrast. And my Urologist said he thought he felt it when he touched my stomach. Has anyone here ever had that happen? My urine is darker at times and I'm in a lot of pain. My labs are normal. I keep bugging him to do another ERCP. I thought I noticed my lungs hurting this morning when I got up. Any advice or would be helpful. in Ga. Guest guest
Dear : I have had stents several times. I have had them come out before they were suppose to and the doctor has also taken them out. Stents can " migrate " to other areas, so you probably need to pursue this with vigor! I am not trying to scare you at all and the stent may have spontaneously passed and may not. But, you know your body better than anyone. With the dark urine and the pain it sounds like there is a blockage some place. Keep in mind, you can lose that stent and also get strictures in other parts of the bile duct or ducts. Go with your gut and keep bugging the docs! Take care Kaye, NC
