Guest guest
Well everyone I am still recovering from my surgery back on March 4th when the doctor drained my psuedocyst. There is still something wrong internally and I'm trying to get a hold of my surgeon in Columbus to see if he can help me. I have had all I can take. The only thing I want from them are my records. I went to my PCP yesterday and she wants me back on my TPN. I have lost 30 pounds in less than 2 months. I'm still having pain from surgery and she doesn't like hearing that, but thinks I'll be better having a surgeon look into it. She has helped me get into Indiana University. I go see Dr. Lehman on May 1st for a consult. She is going to start contacting my insurance about going to Dr. Sutherland incase Dr. Lehman can't offer me anything. I told her things had to start changing or I was going to take this Pancreas out myself. Finding it can't be that hard I can outline it from where the pain is. Sorry I sound so negative and that is really why I haven't posted anything since my surgery. I may be slightly depressed, but I'm more angry than anything right now. I'm tired of not being able to eat and not being able to lead a semi-normal life. I know I have this disease and can deal with diets meds and testing, but not even being able to function enough to raise my kids has got to change. I need to be able to drive and lift things over 15 pounds. If I were in my 70's or 80's I might be able to handle it better, but at 27 I have way to many years of fighting this awful disease to not get any answers. I just wanted to update all who were wondering if I fell off the face of the earth. I want all of you to keep up the good fight! Together we can fight this! I hope you are all having a pain free day today, and hopefully in the future they will all be pain free! Jenise Mansfield, OH
Guest guest
Jenise, I am so sorry that you are still having a rough time. It is hard to remember seeing you well. But, we are not going to give up hope. Let me know when you come to town to see Dr. Lehman. What is your Diabetes status? I will send you that phone number off the board :-) Keep us up to date. Guest guest
Dear Jenise, You don't know me, but I do kind of understand what you are going through. My doctor (an MD) told me that I have chronic pancreatitis, so now that I have started having severe pain he says he doesn't think it is pancreatitis, but he does think that something is going on " in there " . When I went for my appt. on Tuesday, I asked for a referral to go see Dr. Sutherland at the University of Minnesota, and what a surprise when he agreed and I didn't have to argue! My dr.'s nurse " tried " to make me an appt. but said she kept getting an answering machine. I have tried twice and got through right away both times... Anyway, in getting an appt. to see Dr. Sutherland, I had to go through his Secretary, Ann Marie Papas. She seems really nice. I got a hold of her today and she set my appt. up for Tuesday, April 29. That's only 1 1/2 weeks. I think thats pretty quick for such a good Dr. that is in demand! Anyway, I wish you luck with getting some help either from Dr. Lehman or Dr. Sutherland. I am praying that your pain gets better or goes away completely!
