Kimber,

You asked about insulin pumps recently. Do you have one? What is your

experience with them? From the reading I am doing, it sounds like an

excellent choice particularly for Pancreatitis induced Diabetes, as it allows

for the changing of the basal rate depending on how the pancreas is acting

that day. Right now, I take my injection, and there isn't a possibility to do

this.

Karyn,

no I don't have an insulin pumps, but I know that many

diabetics find them to be a better choice than the

injections. I do three injections a day (unless I'm not

eating, then I significantly lower my dose and that makes it

so that I don't have to take a mid-day injection as my

current one is very small amounts). I'm not sure if I want

an insulin pump or not. For a long time, I wasn't able to

use them as the types of insulin I was taking wasn't

available for the pumps. I'm not certain if the pumps allow

you to use humalog and Lantus. And I'm not sure I want to

wear something that reminds me of an IV all the time(more of

a psychological issue than anything else). Why aren't you

able to use a pump?
