My son Josh wcf wet the bed until he was almost 7. My Dr. told me he thought

it could be because the bowels are so full all the time it presses on the

bladder and the bladder can't hold as much as it normally would.

I don't know, he wasn't sure just a theory. Josh now 9 never wets the bed.

Mom to Josh 8 1/2 wcf and 3 1/2 nocf but wants to do therapy

for

his brother.

I have a question.

My twin girls w/CF suffer from on-going bed-wetting (luckily only at

night). We have them on DVAP (nasal drops) which helps, but at 10 years

old, it definitely affects their self esteem and infringes on their

social life. I feel like this is an under-researched or discussed area

in the CF world. Comments? Suggestions? Ideas? (Any Docs out there

reading? What do you think? Latest research?) Although not

life-threatening, I wish they didn't have to suffer with this problem.

Bless their hearts, they get up, sometimes several times a night to

change their own sheets.

Thanks,

Marilyn -Hampton

(Aside: Did anyone see the Genetech ad of my two girls? Most of the

Western Region papers in California are carrying it through March.)

Nigel is only in the reserves now, although if he had the choice he

would be back in again. I have said that he can rejoin but I am staying

put, any postings would be Darwin or Nth Qld.

check your local phone book or ring the local defence base be it army

navy or RAAF

This is really interesting that you wrote this now. I have been wondering about

my own daughter's bed-wetting and if it could be related to CF at all. I was

just at clinic last week and forgot to ask. Mycah will be six next month. I'm

not sure how it could be related to CF, but I guess anything is possible. Could

you tell me more about DVAP? I am not familiar with it. Thanks.

One more mom wondering if this is cf related, my daughter is 7 ½ and still wears

a pull-up to bed at night. Some nights she may be dry, other nights she will get

up and go to the bathroom, but most nights she fills it up. I have tried not

putting a pull-up on her, getting her up every few hours to go, but she is such

a sound sleeper that when she gets up she's not awake enough to go. I have

asked her regular pediatrician a few times about it and he didn't think it was

such a big deal, but I never even thought about it being cf related. My son is 4

w/ cf and he also wets at night. Are they just too lazy to get up and go to the

bathroom or is there something else here that we haven't thought of?

peanut allergy.
