Guest guest
I have missed many lists as we've been away for a while. Kristy had a clinic appt on 20th Jan and again got a splendid report! Her lung function had improved even more, the specialist is very happy. She has now had salt tablets added to her medications, to be taken on hot days prior to activity, this is new to us. I did notice a message from a while ago saying Eilish had seen Kristy's doctor - glad it went well! Lastly to Lenora, thanks so much for perservering with us sending you Kristy's story......we appreciate all your help! Guest guest
Oh I would probably seek advice from the cf clinic with your one year old only just leaving hospital. In the past I have only really been very concerned when my other daughter has a productive cough. > that is very great news . i am very happy for you . i do have a question for anyone though. what do you do when the other child has a cold ? do you separate them ? put a mask on the other child .? what i am at a loss right now .my 1 year old is just out 4 days ago an now my 8 year old is getting a clod . any help? thank you > > gene > father of azrael wcf, an duncan wocf, shaun wocf, an rhianan wocf > May you find Tana in all that you see on your journey in life > catching up slowly..... > > > I have missed many lists as we've been away for a while. > > Kristy had a clinic appt on 20th Jan and again got a splendid > report! Guest guest
Barbara, Glad to hear all is well. Yes we had to see Dr Staguas as the other's were on holidays still. She must have taken niceness pills that morning. We will be back on the 14th April to see Dr again. Eilish takes salt powder, 2 tablespoons every day from end of October to end of March (from start of heat to end). Have you been anywhere on school holidays? catching up slowly..... Guest guest
Hi , We've only been to Noarlunga for a few days, my mum is in hospital. We had been visiting her. I took the girls home mainly because the lady opposite mum had a shocking cough and Kristy also started to cough a little, fairly dry but didn't want to take any chances! I now travel to see mum by myself every few days, car to Gawler, train to Adelaide and then bus to Flinders, usually exhausted when I get home! Dr Staugas has been absolutely wonderful the last few times we've seen her Kristy has been told to take 1 to 2 salt tablets prior to activity, but I think she should probably take them prior to going to school the next couple of days because it's going to be so hot and after the inactivity of the holidays, school is going to be very different. Guest guest
Every year everyone in my immediate household gets a flu shot and I encourage my friends to have everyone in their house get a flu shot also. I don't use the CF I just tell them that we get ours every year and ever since starting that we RARELY get sick. This year has been the worst and I think it's from living w/ family for a month and the stress of moving. We are all doing much better since moving into our house and getting into our routine again. Steve and I seemed to get sick as soon as we got to Northern California and I was worried about Wyatt. He got a slight cold but no big deal. Just some increased coughing. We just remained diligent w/ his treatments and CPT. Then in Arizona my lil sister got strep throat. Wyatt was hanging out w/ her all of the time and in her room to see her animals. I got the strep and Wyatt came through unscathed! I didn't know she had it when she was infectious so I did nothing special to protect him. You just do your best to keep everyone's hand washing habits and such good and go from there. Hunter has been sick a few times in his 2.5 years and Wyatt has never caught it!! I just make sure they don't give eachother any kisses and they wash their hands. That's about it. Christy > that is very great news . i am very happy for you . i do have a question for anyone though. what do you do when the other child has a cold ? do you separate them ? put a mask on the other child .? what i am at a loss right now .my 1 year old is just out 4 days ago an now my 8 year old is getting a clod . any help? thank you > > gene > father of azrael wcf, an duncan wocf, shaun wocf, an rhianan wocf > May you find Tana in all that you see on your journey in life > catching up slowly..... > > > I have missed many lists as we've been away for a while. > > Kristy had a clinic appt on 20th Jan and again got a splendid > report! Guest guest
Barbara, Eilish takes salt whether she is active or not. It is temperature related and they still loose salt regardless but obviously more when doing something. Mind you Eilish is always active. So I would get her to take it before school also. She is sleeping at a school friends tonight and I have just explained to the mum to put a tablespoon in her morning milk, and about the enzymes. When I left she was in the pool. The family has 6 children plus there is 3 extra's sleeping over. Good luck I sayLoL. My out-laws live in Noarlunga. Re: catching up slowly.....
