Guest guest
Hi All, Just found this message in the " moderators' in-box " . Don't think it's been posted to the board yet, so I'm re-sending this for Donna. Hopefully some of you have had some experience with this particular procedure/surgery, and can share your experiences with her. Thanks, --Tull Assistant Moderator Pancreatitis Association, Int'l Date: Sat, 12 Apr 2003 05:34:15 -0700 (PDT) Subject: Re: Welcome to pancreatitis To: pancreatitis Moderator <pancreatitis-owner > I HAVE HAD PANCREATITIS SINCE 1986. IT HAS FINALLY GOTTEN SO BAD THAT THEY HAD ME SCHEDULED FOR SURGERY (PANCREATICODUODENECTOMY) APRIL 14, 2003, BUT MY SURGEON HAS BEEN DEPLOYED TO IRAQ SO THEY HAVE POSTPONED IT. IN THE LAST 6 MTHS IT HAS REALLY GOTTEN BAD-THEY HAVE INSERTED 4 STENTS. I KEEP HAVING TERRIBLE FLARE-UPS, BUT THEY HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GIVE ME ENOUGH MEDICATION AT HOME TO KEEP ME OUT OF THE HOSPITAL. THEY TELL ME THAT BOTH THE HEAD AND THE TAIL OF THE PAN. ARE FULL OF STONES AND I HAVE MAJOR SCAR TISSUE DAMAGE. I AM 47 AND HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO WORK SINCE AUG. I FINALLY GOT MY SSD IN DECEMBER, THANK GOD-THINGS WERE GETTING REAL TIGHT. IF ANY ONE HAS ANY INPUT ON THIS SURGERY, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THANKS FOR LISTENING, DONNA GOOINE HERMON, MAINE
