I am glad to hear you are all okay. The pump had to be replaced and two

other things I cant remember. But when it was fixed it was heaven.

I have known my in-laws since I was 9yrs old. The honest truth is I

cannot stand my mother-in-law,. Thankfully they live 1 1/2 hours drive

away. They really don't seem to understand Cf. If Eilish gets ill your

lucky if they visit the hsp. If their other granddaughter gets a

sniffle, well its like the poor thing is on deaths door. Nothing

against my niece I love her. We haven't seen them all year, or even

spoken to them so its been bliss. Sometimes I think she's getting

better, as she was for the last 3-4 months of last year, then she goes

weirder again. At least my family is normal and close by. You know the

old saying " Friends are relatives you pick for yourself " . I have this

on my fridge door.

Stay cool.

I feel for you dearest! Hey, come and play with us, the smoke haze is

clearing.....

Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. There is very little fire threat

left

down my part of Canberra now. The nearest fires are 40kms away - on the

other side of town it's only 10km. My life went (CF related) pear

shaped on

Thursday, and didn't get much better until today (Sunday).

Sian started coughing on Thursday - was running a bit of a temp. GP

gave me

a script for antibiotics to fill if she got any worse. Thus far, I

haven't

needed to fill it. Friday I was running around like a headless chook

nearly

all day. I drove over to the other side of town to lodge my enrolment

for

the course I want to do at university this year, only to be told that

the

course was closed, and the person I needed to talk to about getting in

anyway was away until Feb 5th. Applications close Feb 3rd!! Needless

to

say I was majorly ticked off!

Friday night we had dinner with the outlaws, and the girls stayed for a

sleepover so Doug & I could go see Lord of the Rings Two Towers. My

mother

in law decided to tell me that the reason Sian has recurrent bowel

blockages

is because I don't force her to eat everything on her plate, and let her

get

down from the table when she has had enough to eat. She also told me

that

my children are spoilt, and that if they won't eat what is on their

plates

they should be sent to bed. This is all said in front of the children.

This is from the woman who said that if Doug had never married me, she

would

never have had to deal with CF. I didn't hit her - aren't you proud of

me?

Needless to say, I am still deeply hurt by the whole shebang, and could

cheerfully cut my mother in law into little pieces and dance about on

the

remains.

While I'm venting here, does anyone else have in laws with absolutely no

idea? Here we are, dealing with fire and water restrictions & all the

rest

of it. Guess what my mother in law packed for her evacuation? Did you

guess photos, irreplaceable memory triggers, or maybe important

paperwork?

Wrong - she packed two of her five sewing machines. This woman has no

understanding of the importance of memories and life experiences.

Everything in her life is judged on how much it costs, and whether it

looks

good enough to impress other people. If it didn't make me so angry, I'd

be

so terribly sorry for her. The other thing she told me off for on

Friday

night is the fact that I haven't finished landscaping the front of my

house.

I don't give a fetid dingo's kidney what the front of my house looks

like.

I am more concerned with whether I've played with my children today,

whether

we've created another deposit in our memory archives. The only memories

she's given my children this week are her yelling at me!

Anyway, enough of my negative attack. Hopefully I can stop bitching now

and

move on to something constructive!

Hey Torsten, whereabouts in Germany are you? What are you folks doing

around Christmas 2004? (I'm planning Christmas in Vienna that year!!

Talk

about adding memories to the archives......)

Much love to all,
