Hi Diane,

If you click on the following link, you can get plenty of ideas about

a diet tips that most CP patients find useful. It answers your

questions about fat gram consumption and suitable foods for

our diet.

This is located in our " Files " section under the " Nutrition " folder.

If you search through our files you can find much helpful

information about pancreatitis.

One thing that most of us take when we eat are enzyme

supplements. These supplements are comprised of amylase,

lipase and protease enzymes that replace those not functioning

in our pancreas', thereby reducing the pain and lessening the

work that the pancreas has to do during the digestion process.

You may wish to ask your doctor to prescribe you some....I'm

surprised that he or she hasn't already done so. Many of us are

also on pain medication to help us handle the pain, has your

doctor prescribed anything for you?

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time adapting. The change

in lifestyle can be very difficult at first, but I feel sure that with time,

you will have better control over the situation and feel more

comfortable with all the adjustments you're having to go through.

Please don't hesitate if you have any more questions, we're here

to help whenever we can.

With hope and prayers,

Heidi

Hi, Everyone, I'm new to this list and have a few basic questions.

I had an acute attack of pancreatitis in November, and have had

symptoms every day since. I was told 2 weeks ago that this is

now chronic pancreatitis.

The only guidelines I've been given are to stay on a low-fat diet.

I'm sorry to ask what must be a repetitive question, but can

anyone tell me the best way to eat to live with this? minimum
