Guest guest
Dear Heidi, First of all, thanks for replying! No, the doctor I'm seeing is not a gastroenterologist, he is an MD. We live in a very rural area and the closest gastro. is about 2 hours away (thats if you step on the gas a llittle hard!) We have specialists that come on Thursdays from St. Cloud, MN. My mom lives down by the Twin Cities and when she had hers, they did them both the same day also... We are so rural that I think we are a little backwards... Also, I didn't have any prep for the endoscopy except I could only have clear liquids the day before. My prep for the colonoscopy isn't a gallon of stuff either, at 7:00 pm tomorrow, I have to drink 1.5 Fl Oz of Fleet Phospho-Soda, which is an oral saline laxative (Ginger-Lemon flavor). I am supppose to mix the 1.5 oz of laxative with 1/2 (4 oz) of cool water and then immediately follow with one full glass (8 oz) of " approved " clear liquids. Then I run to the bathroom and either puke or sh__! So after a nice sleepless night of running to the bathroom, I get to do it all over again at 6:00 Thursday morning. Then I have to be at the hospital at 12:30 in the afternoon on Thursday. Needless to say, I am NOT looking forward to it at all!!! However, I do think I will try your coke trick (but mine will be diet coke as I have diabetes. Oh! and I did put a book in the bathroom already today!! Yes they did a contrast CT to check out my pancreas, it didn't show much, at least that is what I was told. What is sandostatin? I mean, I know its a medicine, but is it a pain med.? and why could it be risky? Well, I guess that's all for now, I hope you are having a pain- free day!!! With lots of hugs and prayers, P.S. Thanks for being there for me...
