Guest guest
Hi Anyone Who Reads This: As you know from my 2 previous post, I've had respitory problems for the past couple months, who has flaired-up my pancreas. So I called my doctor yesterday (Monday) and she said for me to go to the ER. I waited until this morning, because I dread it so much, but I am so sick! They weren't very busy, got called back pretty quick, and the doctor met me at the nurser's desk and took me to a room. I have to tell you this doctor knows me well. He listened to my heart, listened to my belly, DID NOT listen to my lungsor chest, front or back. DID NOT do any chest or belly x-rays. DID NOT do any labs. He said he knows that my levels won't be elevated because my pancreas is a burn-out. He said he would give me a great big pain/nausea shot & send me home. And to follow up with my doctor in a day or so. And they gave me my " pancreatitis " instruction sheet & sent me on my way, in a lil' over 45 mins. Yeah! I still feel like crap, I still feel like I'm going to burst from the pain, but the shot is putting a dullness on it now, so I'm off to bed, and I'm happy about that, since I was up all night sick as a dog! I'll check in later, thanks for letting me vent. Lots of Hugs,
Guest guest
I have only been pushed back out like that one time and it was because I was released that same day. It was a bad attack. I got better, went home and then within a few hours I was throwing up and in a lot of pain again. However my enzymes were near normal. They figured it was just a little spike. It bothered me to no end to be sent home after a big old shot of demerol and phenergan. I protested by my guru who has done very well for me called in and told the ER docs. it would be safe to send me home. It did work out so I guess he was right. But that is a terrible feeling. And in your case it sounds to me like you should have been admitted and treated. My heart goes out to you, I know what your pain is though I can never know who badly it hurts you. I hope you do ok and hang in there until you can see your doctor. Please keep us informed of how you are doing. I will worry about you!
