Guest guest
while I understand your frustration, I don't think it is a bad idea to bring in information for your docotr...especially if he/she is receptive. I have another condition, called " fibromyalgia " that is just now getting a little recognition and respect...most doctors ascribe to the theory that this is an " all in your head " kind of condition that only depressed, anxious or hysterical women have. It has been repeatedly proven to be a condition of neuro-hormonal- chemical basis...there is something wrong in our wiring that reports pain that " isn't there " ...by that I mean, it creates a pain signal for simple touch, even just a pat on the fanny can be excruciatingly painful, or if you step on something barefooted you would swear it was a knife up inside your foot... I cannot stand to have many fabrics next to my skin...I cannot wear lace or tweed or wool...my skin perceives them as painful. I cannot sit with my arm resting on a " tweed " couch, I have to have something soft between my arm and the arm of the couch. Same with sleeping...I cannot rest my arms on the blankets...it's very uncomfortable, so I have learned to make the bed with another sheet on top of the blanket, so my arm rests against the sheet... I bring articles to my doctor all the time...he appreciates me keeping him informed of all the latest techniques and research going on out there. There aren't enough hours in the day for the doctors to read every single article and every single website out there... it's enough for them to keep current with the new meds that are being developed all the time...we can help them by bringing in the latest information. We have to work as a team...doctors cannot be expected to " fix me " without my assistance....whether by following the prescribed diet or regimen of meds or getting the right amount and kind of exercise... Just my two cents worth... Jeannine > > I suppose in some way I can understand why doctors don't take the time to learn > about the pancreas but it's no excuse. We shouldn't have to bring information > to the doctor so they can treat us, all we should have to bring is our bodies! This makes me angry, can you tell? > > Peace,>

Guest guest
Good Morning Andy 1st off, any word from you loved one's fighting the " SAD MAN INSANE " that what Cassie called him the 1st Gulf war. I hope all finds then well. Cassie recently was seen at Boston childrens for the 1st 1ime. After a much anticipated wait for results we were told other than having SPINK1 they could find nothing wrong. But yet they were all gun-ho about doing surgery, Sphinctorotony even though nothing showed the need to do so. Cassie, Mike and I discussed this along wiht her PCP (primary care physician). If it's not broke they aren't going to try and fix it on her. Her ERCP when done in Jabuary 2991 threw her into the worst attack she had to daye. Since then every attack worse. NO Way. hope you are having agood day. God Bless America and God Save the Queen Patty Hurst Bangor, ME Maine State Rep PAI
