Guest guest
<PRE>We had some good and some bad news when we went into clinic Tuesday. The good news was that who had polyps removed on DEC 13 to help get rid of the psuedomonas in her nose. Cultured negative for her THROAT CULTURE!!! She hasn't been negative there for a year. The bad news is she is still positive in her nose. They said she has 3 kind of psuedomonas and two are resistant to antibiotics! Which really scared me when he said this but he also said usually this is resistant when you are on IV's because you can't use a stronger doses because it can damage you liver. So he think because we are irrigating with antibiotics we can use a stronger dose and we have a better chance of getting rid of it. But on another note he says that there are so many pits in the sinuses that it can also be very hard to get the irrigation to every area. So I kind of don't know how to feel right now excited because at least she had a negative culture but he also says I am not happy until we have at least 4 or 5 negative cultures and worried because it still not out of her nose and we may never get it out of her nose. I HATE CF!!! You work you tail off to try to get rid of the @#$#%# psuedomonas and it's still there!! I HATE IT!!!!!!! Ok I feel a little better now. Thanks for listening! Guest guest
---Deb, I didn't know they could get that in there nose. We are fighting psuedomonas with Amber right now and, asperila(hope I spelled that right). I feel your frustration, and to use this is all new sense Amber wasn't diagnosed until just a yr ago. But I am so thankful that this list is here, it just helps knowing I'm not alone. But again wish we never had to meet, because if that was the case there wouldn't be such a thing as CF. I hate the fact that we all have to go through what we do to help keep our kids healthy. I also love this group I don't know what I would do without it. At least someone is around that I can yell at and they don't yell back LOL!! At least it doesn't hurt my ear! The doctors think that keeps getting psuedomonas because it is staying in here nose so we are doing everything we can to get it out of there.
