Guest guest
Robin, I don't condone by any means the way the parents were shoving the bottle in the girls face fvor no reason, but as a mother to an overweight child, I must say sometimes the situation looks differently to those on the outside. I have 3 daughters, my 15 year old is only 4'9, and weighs 88 pounds. She's very petite. My 8 year old is 4'5, and weighs 67 pounds, she's very tall for her age and thin. And then there's my , she's turning 5 next month, and almost 4 foot tall, but weighs 70 pounds. She has a belly on her, and is what you'd call chunky if you saw her. She runs and plays just like the other kids, but has a big appetite, and for the longest time I indulged her to whatever she wanted. NOw she only gets the healthier food choices, but has lost any weight. I don't just give her what she wants, but she gained the majority of her weight during her most difficult period, where she was sick all the time, and had started speech therapy, and my husband and I had split up, and in the middle of all this, I had my surgery. There were lots of contributing factors, ya know? I just wanted you to know that there are some of us out there with overweight children who didn't do it on purpose, and didn't substitute food for care and attention.
