A little OT: shoes and velcro

I have been looking high and low for sandals and dress shoes for my girls and I

will be danged if anyone uses buckles anymore!

The problem I have is that sandals with velcro come unhooked, then the child

trips on them, shoe falls off, at best you have to put the shoe back on, at

worst kid hurts ankle and elbow in the trip/fall. Dress shoes are not much

better. THe velcro always comes undone and the shoe slips off, or worse just

slips and eventually makes a blister on the heel.

I was apalled to see that even Stride Rite have very few buckle sandals - and

NONE for boys! YOu put all that work into making a good shoe and then ruin it

by putting velcro on it!

Maybe it is just me. Maybe I just have two really unique girls that manage to

always have their shoes coming off, but somehow I don't think this is the case.
