dosage abbrieviations in prescriptions

I'll repeat the following question, from the end of an earlier post (does this

prove no one really reads my long-ish posts? does this mean I should discontinue

same?).

By the way, I think I know

bid = twice a day

tid = thrice a day

qid = four a day

but does anyone know the abbrieviation for ONCE a day?

P.S. Also, is there an abbrieviation for " as needed " ?
