Guest guest
Hey Trisha!! Congrats on your pregnancy!! I think you will be JUST FINE!! I have known women who were had much less post-op time and they had beautiful, healthy babies!! The biggest thing is to make sure you take ALL your vitamins, and I have found it very helpful to eat little meals throughout the day to get more nutrition in! You might lose some weight while you are pg too.. I have read that several women here have.. but they all seem to be just fine. Just let your OB know your history.. stay in touch with your surgeon and when in doubt - ASK!!! (which you are already doing!) I will keep you in my prayers! Guest guest
Diane Good luck to you as well. Are you going back to school after maternity leave? Our materinity leave isn't that great. I am due early Jan---so I will just not come back after Christmas Break (at least that is the plan for now) Also, I am prepping hubby for me not going back. Hope it works out for us both!!!!!!! What are you having? > Trisha I too am a teacher and go back to work on Monday How > aweful I am dredding it. Our school hours are from 7:50 am till 4:20 > pm so they are longer than the usual also. Guest guest
I am having a little girl due sept.14th. Her name will be Sienna Rose. My husband and I are financially a disaster and are in a lot of debt, so I have no choice but to return to work. My # 1 worry about this after the first trimester has been how will we be able to afford child care when I go back. I would love to be a stay home mom for at least awhile but that is not in the picture for me. I am thinking I will go out after the first week of September and return the first week of November. I have 6 weeks of short term disability for maternity leave and 2 weeks of sick leave that I must use in order to get the disability. I will have NO sick leave after the baby so any days I miss after I come back will be subtracted from my pay. - I'm sure there will be a few to say the least. Good luck with your pregnancy and working things out in order to stay home with the little one. - Diane > > Trisha I too am a teacher and go back to work on Monday How > > aweful I am dredding it. Guest guest
Diane... Have you considered staying at home with your baby and doing childcare/preschool from your home. There can be some excellent benefits to being at home and the pay can also be VERY good. I'm sure with your education background you'd have little trouble getting children. I've had a daycare for the last 2 years and I wouldn't do anything else while my children are small. It's certainly something to consider! Guest guest
Trisha & Diane, I am with you both! I wanted to get preggo so I could be due at the end of the school year, take my 6 weeks family leave and won't have to come back! I am still not preggo so we will see if my plan works or not. I am very lucky to have an interesting postition where I sit in gen ed classes with Deaf or Head of Hearing students and use sign language to interpret what the teacher says. It is awesome becuase I don't have to do lesson plans, meetings, etc. etc. That is exactly what I need with my 3 1/2 year old at home and hopefully another on the way soon! The problem is that one of our vet teachers quit and if they can not find someone to fill her position I could be forced into a full time teaching postition =S For me right now I would just lose it. I find out tomorrow what is going to go on for the next school year (that starts in 2 weeks!) Gotta love that last minute thing! I will be thinking of you both! Teaching while preggo can be SO challenging. The bathroom issue, morning sickness, etc etc. I can't wait for it =) Jeanette in IL Lap RNY 5-9-03 264/145/135?? Guest guest
I have thought about it but right now the place we live in is so small that I don't know where I'd put anymore kids - we had to do a lot of rearrangeing inorder to make room for this one. If I am fortunate enough to have another we will definately lok for a larger place and in that case it would be an option. Thanks for the suggestion. - Diane > > > Trisha I too am a teacher and go back to work on Monday How > > > aweful I am dredding it.
