hi rachel!! did i welcome you?? im sorry if i didnt!

so welcome to the group!

my favourite workouts are kickboxing, athletic stretching, and strength

training. well, heck, i actually like all kinds of workouts and have tons

of favourite instructors on vhs/dvd. it is really hard to just name one or

two. (that question is like asking me to name my favourite book or

song.... impossible to do because there are so many!)

anyway you are so smart to start working out now so that you dont have to

make a resolution in january! good on ya!!!

Welcome Lydia. You are already a smart Mom, but you will learn so much here.

Mona

New here!!

Just a quick introduction/explanation of myself here.

My name is Lydia, I am the mom to 2 great kids, a 2.5 year old boy and

a 1 year old daughter. I became suspicious of vaccines once my

daughter was born last year, but had felt uneasy about them for a

while beforehand. My son is completely vaccinated. I turned down the

HepB shot for my daughter in the hospital, and then went home and

started doing some research. I went to www.thinktwice.com and clicked

around for awhile...after a few hours I was convinced that there were

too many " coincidences " regarding illnesses/death and shots, and as my

child's advocate, I could not allow that to happen to her. I have

little or no support on this...most family and friends think I am

totally nuts, if not causing my daughter possible damage. I

(obviously) don't know everything about vaccines, but am very

interested in being as informed as I can be on the subject.

I don't think medicine is evil, or doctors horrible people, but I HAVE

had nurses try to convince me not to breastfeed (with my first child,

can you imagine?) and that has given me pause to realize that this is

their job, and if a few children fall thru the cracks, it must not

bother them.

Thanks for allowing me in your group, I can't wait to read up and

learn more about this issue.

~Lydia

Hi everyone!

My name is Ivana, I live in Sweden. I have a son, he´s now 2

years old. He suffers from pyridoxine dependency epilepsy syndrome,

and was diagnosed when 10 days old. He had a slow recovery (was very

ill the first few months when getting the wrong meds) but now only

has developemental, perceptive and behavorial issues. I say " only "

because it's not uncommon with poor seizure control in regards to

having his syndrome.

All his problems are so mild that he passes as a normal but quiet

child (if you don´t get to know him a little bit better thet is). He

does not speak, but we are both learning signlanguage and he is very

quickly expanding his vocabulary. His cognitive level is in some

aspects quite normal allthough he has a somewhat

uneven " developemental style " . All this is very fascinating according

to his neuro... But to me it just seems comfusing (and sad), and i do

what I can to help him.

He also has some motorskill problems and seems to have problems

planning movements and needs a lot of verbal support when for

instance climbing and playing outside. F.ex. -- " put your leg down on

the ground, then you take your hand and grab that handle over there,

and... "

I often get the feeling of a normal person trapped inside a

nonfunctioning mute body and that makes me so frustrated i just want

to scream! Which he often does himself when not heard, or seen or

undrestood correctly.

He goes to a special daycare centre, but at the moment there are no

other signing kids in his apartement. He has no one to one time at

the moment and I feel he is not getting enough support and training.

Most children with PDS have speech delays, some have additional

autistic features. it´s not uncommon to have a severe speech delay.

I´m a member of the b6children group and just found this group.

Our main issue is his not speaking and it´s going to be interesting

to get to know you parents with similar issues on this site!!!

I you have any questions or comments please write, i do need the

input.

Ivana from sweden mom of 2 years.
