Thank you from the bottom of my heart

I cannot express how much your words have meant to me, each and every

single one of you. You have helped me get through a very difficult

night and, hopefully, your words will get me through a trying day

tomorrow.

I am just so disgusted with doctors right now - especially the GI. I

called him to ask for help and all he did was have his nurse refer me

to special procedures. Those nurses, though, listened and are

scheduling Max to have a contrast study done tomorrow to see if the j

tube is in the right place. Then, out of frustration and

hopelessness, I called the nurse from the homecare company and she

held my hand and offered suggestions to help Max feel better while he

was doubled over in pain. She urged me to call the GI again at

around 10pm, so I did. We could see Max's abdomen all bloated and it

hurt to the touch. This time I spoke to a DOCTOR, one that I like,

and he urged us to use an enema on Max. I guess just the suggestion

of an enema made Max want to go to the bathroom, so after about 10

minutes of sitting on the toilet, he finally went and had some

relief. He stressed the importance of the contrast study and,

interestingly, told me that general anesthesia can slow down the

gut. That is not something Max needs at all! He did tell me to use

Tylenol with Codeine if the pain continues.

Poor Max. Poor me. But I am strong and will carry on. So will

Max. But it is so hard. It's just awful to watch your child in pain

and not be able to stop it. And it's just awful to go through

something or some complication so often. I get scared for Max's

health and his future.

Thank you all again. Words just don't do justice to express my

gratitude. Maybe all those prayers are working. I do know that I

better get some sleep while Max is finally asleep. Bless my

husband's heart, but he cannot deal with this stuff. And who said

that women are the weaker sex?

P.S. Dr. H. wants to try Zelnorm on Max. When we see her next week,

I hope she prescribes it! Anyone else going to be there on May 4?
