Question for the Nurses...

Hello everyone. Well, I've got 3 days to go, c-section is scheduled

for Monday morning at 9:30. It can't come soon enough, let me tell

you! I feel so huge and so uncomfortable, but I know I don't have

to tell you all about these things! Here's the question I have:

What makes one woman have more amniotic fluid than another? The

reason I ask, is the nurse I saw yesterday (this was the 2nd nurse

in a row to mention this) told me that I have MORE than enough

amniotic fluid. I asked her what was normal...she stated 12 to 15

(whatever the fluid measurement is) and mine is 30! I asked her if

this was a problem and she simply stated that baby boy had plenty to

float around in and if my water breaks I'm in for one heck of a

mess. So while I'm not concerned, because they haven't been, I am

still left wondering why?? We also noted (for the last 3 weeks)

that baby boy Tristan Connor has quite chubby cheeks and for the

last two weeks we have been able to see the vernix floating around

in the amniotic fluid...I found that quite interesting. Tells me

he's ready to go!! LOL Oh, by the way...for all of you obsessing

about weight gain...I've now put on 51 pounds and I'm hoping against

all hope that its because of all that extra amniotic fluid!! (yeah,

right). :(

I hope this all finds you well and happy and look forward to

continued reading of everyone's postings. Take care!
