Guest guest
We went in for our first apt after the tenotomy. Dr. Morin said the surgery was a success. BUT... he says we'll be doing a few more casts and manipulations. I did question him about hte method he was using. He acknowledged that its not the traditional ponseti route (and he has been for the training as recently as last summer.. or fall?). He said the difference here is that my son's condition is due to a genetic syndrome. The foot is characteristically different than most - it is thicker, wider and shorter in lengeth. He said at the last training he went to, these type of feet were discussed separately and that Dr. Ponseti had come across some such cases and recommends a more aggressive approach and that the tenotomy can be done before all manipulation is complete in order to allow for more correction. I don't know about you, but I do feel more comfortable with this new information. Thanks for everyone's help and continued advice.
