I have decided to put my scale away for the duration of the

pregnancy. I am now 20 weeks along and for the last month did not

loose anything - actually I have gained 4 lbs. That is good I know

but being that I concieved 5 1/2 months out from surgery I still

have 50 lbs to go! There are just certain numbers I do not want to

see again - EVER! Every time I would weigh I would still celebrate a

litt when I continued loosing slowly even though I knew that the

doctor wanted the weight to stabilize and for me to start gaining a

little. Now when I saw the numbers going up a little I felt

disappointed even though i know it is the baby growing. I thought

these were really irrational thoughts I was having and the baby is

the most important thing to me so out goes the scale! I figure the

monthly doctors visits will monitor my weight but I reallyy do not

think I will gain too much. I think I just want them to tell me if I

am doing good or if there is something I need to do - and I dont even

want to know how much weight was gained at each visit. For me it is

better to make the numbers a non issue and the baby to be the main

concern. The psycological aspect of this took me by surprise but I

wont let it get to me. - Diane
