Guest guest
Demrie, Nipple stimulation is a great way to induce contractions. A lot hospitals encourage nipple stimulation during labor to make it progress faster. This is also the reason that it is great to breast feed afterwards, the nipple stimulation from nursing makes your uterus go back to size much quicker than otherwise. (But from personal experience if you have a C-section the contractions from nursing are OUCH painful, but they do eventually go away !! ) Good luck, hope you can get him here soon. Guest guest
I heard sex can bring it on. Both the mans semen and your orgasim can bring on the contractions - so have some fun before he does come and you " off Limits " for awhile. Ultimately though he will just come when he is ready and not a min. sooner! Good luck I know you are ready - Diane > Hi Moms! Guest guest
Castor oil worked for me, if you can get it down! Good luck! Inducing Labor Hi Moms! (And a few Dads!) So, I've read about doing everything from pinching the skin between my thumb and forefinger (one of the stranger ones) to going up and down stairs to help stimulate labor. I'm curious what other things people have heard! I've been cleaning house like crazy and haven't even had a twinge of a contraction! Sore ligaments, lots of pelvis pressure, but no contractions. At my last appointment, I was fully effaced, but not yet dilated. I know I just have to let nature takes it's course, and will come when he's darn well ready, but it's sort of fun to TRY to induce him. I'm 39 weeks now and the doc says he's around 8 pounds! I have this fear of him being a 10- pounder when he decides to show up! I'd like to encourage him to do it sooner! Guest guest
Hello, I know with my son 4.5 years ago I tried everything I could think of to induce him. Red raspberry tea, blue and black cohosh...It made a lot of really painful contractions but nothing ever happened. I have heard spicy food works....I know sex is supposed to work and after my bout of false labor this I can attest to that...! But really who wants to have sex at this point! I think it will happen when you least expect it......unless your induced. I understand your pain because I am at almost 34 weeks and this baby dropped a few weeks ago and it is constant vaginal/pelvic/rectum pressure 24/7.......not a fun state to be in. Good luck and keep us posted! Chrystal Wife to Jace - together 6 Years! Happy Mommy to - 4 Years Old! Jonas Due July 28, 2004! Guest guest
Thanks for all the advice! I'm too chicken to try things like castor oil or the teas or herbs. I know he'll come when he's ready. It's just fun to hear what people have heard or experienced themselves. The pinching of the skin between the thumb and forefinger was really funny to me!
