I don't have any infor regarding flights but Duke is in Durham ,NC which is

about 30 minutes from me. DUke is the place to be if you have a brain tumor.

They are world renown for their care of patients with brain tumors. I hope

things will work out for her.

At the place I work as a temp we were told about a young mother who needs to go

out to Duke University (I am not sure where that is) from Wisconsin. I am not

sure how long ago she went out there and had 1 operation for a brain tumor or

when the next is scheduled but I guess she used to work at Claims Management and

quit to be a stay at home mom. Her husband is a first year teacher so they do

not have much money. I guess the baby is 5 or 6 months old and this brain tumor

was discovered that is giving her seizures. The doctors at Marshfield Clinic

(she lives in that area of Wisconsin and they are considered one of the better

places to go in the state) gave her 2 months to 2 years to live. They said the

tumor which is 7 inches is unoperable.

Somehow she knows someone out on the east coast and the doctors at Duke say they

can remove at least 6 1/2 inches.

I was wondering if anyone has the phone numbers to any of the services that

offer reduced fee or free flights? I am trying to find things I have saved but

will take awhile.

Thanks ,

The head of our provider division just found out about the problems when she

talked to the ladies mother. We have taken up a collection to send to her.

Glad to know Duke has a very good reputation.

Janet, could you please make sure this gets to the rest of the group. Will

write more later with an explanation. I have been hospitalized until tonight,

I'm doing better and have Good News, my Neurologist is making arrangements for

me to get to KU to go thru the MDA clinic. He said he will send in a referral

and they will contact me about an appt and I have transportation.

Thanks, Dolores
