Guest guest
Deanne, thank you for sharing your words of encouragement. May I please ask if there was anything that may have helped your son through his high school years. in particular? My daughter was always able to work through whatever the issue with PT (bursitis, tendonitis, etc) even though she did have to change sports twice to accomodate. A year ago she suddenly became unable to play sports or attend school and is really having a difficult time with it. It encourages me greatly to hear of your son...I think it is a little more difficult for teens to see that light... Thank you, (, 16, unspecified arthritis, immune deficiency, chronic daily migraine) mollibeau <mollibeau@...> wrote: Hi, My name is Deanne and my 23 year old son has ANA-, Pauciarthritis JRA. He had his first flare up at 3 at that time with Right hip synovitis, he had had autoimmune problems since birth. At 5 he woke up with his right knee swollen and was then dx with JRA (finally an answer). My daughters and I are all ANA +, the girls are check annually for Lupus. My son went through hell with treatments and finally went in remission at 17 years old. At 20 he joined the Airforce, (he was told at 16 he would be wheelchair bound by his early 20's). For 17 years it was nothing but treatments pain, hospitilizations he had a rough road to go down. He has had some flare ups but nothing that he can't handle. I know its not much but I just wanted you to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. God bless Deanne __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Deanne, Your so right about the light at the end of the tunnel. Roads can be rough. But it get's easier. We do not rock the boat when there's good days for several months. Welcome to the group. We have been down the rough roads. Then it seems like a break for Months and a small flare happens. Another break and we are hoping. Right now is flaring. But we know she will get through it ok. She will have more good days. How's your Son doing in the Military? Guest guest
To everyone, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. My 8 year old son, verbal/oral apraxia and also sensory issues, is on his way to recoverig fully. When he started K two years ago, he was less then 50% understandable, that didn't stop him. He is very understandable now and he has the determination like you wouldn't believe. Please do not give up hope if you are in the greiving stages. They will do better. Stay strong and focused, don't ever let them see your inner struggle, believe me there is a lot of inner struggle, isn't there??? Blessings to you all, Vicki Homeschool Advice?
