Guest guest
Thank you for responding! We are located in Milwaukee Wisconsin. It's interesting to me how my pediatrician came to suspect Madeline and RSS. He happened to be reading his medical journals one evening and saw a photo of a child that looked very much like Madeline and after reading more he realized that she fit the medical description as well. He sent us to a Geneticist right away where we seemed to confirmed RSS. We spoke with the Geneticist about the possibilities of GH and she seemed to discourage. We discussed the importance of weighing the benefit of only obtaining a small increase in overall height versus the costs and possible psycholoic/behavioral issues that she said can develop with this type of therapy. This doctor felt that Madeline would probably end up being approx 5' tall. She felt that we should consult with an endocrinologist if we wanted to know more.. With that information, we never perused GH. I wonder if there have been developments in GH therapy that would make this an option to look into again before it is too late. Do you feel that there are great benefits to the GH that I should look further into? At the time, the doctor suggested that Madeline would maybe gain an inch in height and for that inch Madeline would have to endure multiple injections and possible side effects.. Madeline's stomach issues seem to be much more prevalent lately along with head aches. I have tried Tums and pepto with minimal success. I have talked to her pediatrician and we have really gone nowhere with this.. I am planning on asking my doctor about the medication you mentioned, periactin.. Thank you again for your e mail!
