Guest guest
Kin I love your humour in the face of the few ignoramouses (spelling?) there are out there!!! Imogen never asks why she is small....she is just not bothered at the moment. I haven't spoken to her about RSS yet....I don't know when is the right time. What have other parents done. When I do talk to her about her size I just say to her' you know you are very small for your age don't you?' Unforunately she thinks she will catch up and be normal height....tho' I did try and explain to her once that this won't happen....but she got bored with the conversation and ran away to play!. She's only 6! So I haven't actually told her she has a 'syndrome' yet.Just that she is very small and will always be very small. And she knows very well she's special!! So many people have said that to her that she pipes up with this information on a regular basis....mucch to the annoyance of her brothers and sisters!!! Kim, did you get my private email? Guest guest
der kim, i red wot you sed and i wonted to tel you i am a smarti pants just like you. my momy let me tipe it. destiny 4 almost 5 rss dwarfism? I just thought i'd relate my experience of explaining my self as a kid. I remember when i was about 4 asking a relative " do you know why i'm small " they said no and i replied " because i'm special " and thats all i remember at that age knowing about my height (or lack of it) As i got older and peole stared i laughed and told them i had my legs amputated from the knees down and i was actually waling on my knee caps. I must say the shocked look on their faces as i laughed and walked off was classic.I also use to tell people i was found under a bush or bought from a travelling circus (although the latter comment always upset my mum so i stopped that line) I had a medical appointment at a hospital about 4 years ago and the doctor called me a medical curiosity i just about jumped on him and smacked him , us RSS'ers are fiesty folks Warmest Regards Kim.L. 25,RSS (UK) --------------------------------- Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi destiny I think its great that your are so smart when people tease you its not very nice is it. I must that say your spelling is very good for your age, and of course I'm not sad I just took a long time to get round to reading your email. If you or your mom want to email me privately with any questions or want to chat I would be really happy. Keep up being a tough cookie and don't let anyone be rude or unkind to you, having RSS makes us very special as not many people have it and as you get older you'll be pleased to learn all the things you can do. I live on my own in a house with 2 bedrooms and drive a big car.
