Guest guest
Okay... I am watching Dr Phil... Today is Fat Day. Anyhow... he just had this guy on who lost 114lbs in 5 months on his program. Here I am 4 months Post op and only down 50 lbs... give or take that 1 lbs... I am Thrilled that I have lost 20% of my starting weight already... and I KNOW I am 7 weeks preggers and I have hormonal issues going on.. and I am tired.. oh so tired.... But come on... 114 lbs?? It wasn't like he was 400 lbs to start with either... It just AIN'T FAIR! - Mommy to: Noah - 10/14/02 - 31 weeker - 3lbs 11 oz edd November 18th m/c 7/04 Open RNY 12/3/03.... -49 lbs gone and counting
Guest guest
I feel like I could of made it much farther too and now that I am gaining weight from the pregnancy I feel like a failure of the WLS. I was still 70 pounds from goal and at a stand still when I got pregnant. I have been told that the baby weight will be easy to get off so I am praying that is true God Bless, Robin, NorthEastern, NY EDD- July 27th, 2004 IT'S A BOY!!!!!! Guest guest
Hi , I know that can be discouraging to see someone lose weight faster in about the same amount of time as you, but from what I've read (and seen with my own eyes), men tend to lose weight faster anyway and we all have different metabolisms and our bodies will basically lose at the rate it's meant to lose. You'll do just fine though. I'm 2 1/2 months preg. and it's kind of scary to think that we will probably gain some weight when we were still in the mindset of losing weight, but I'm just going to take one day at a time and try to do my best when I can and then worry about it after the baby's born. I do get discouraged when I read that other's who have had this surgery (men or women) and seem to be losing faster than me. In a way it's a eye opener for me and shows me that I do still need to keep a better eye on what I'm eating or how much, and I know I've slipped up more than I had hoped I would. You'll do just fine. Just keep yourself healthy and eat the right foods and then you won't have anything to worry about. Sincerely, Tonya Gist

Guest guest
, I hear your frustration on this one girl. My husband can work for a month on his gut and he'll start looking trim again. I work for years and still after being down 120lbs I believe people see me as a chunky gal. I'm 22 wks right now and the weight gain has been 1lb. So please don't worry about loosing right now. It'll come off after the baby, especially if you breastfeed. Good luck with everything and remember regular weight loss and pregnancy matters don't necessarily pertain to us. We're special! Guest guest
, I totally understand how you feel. I had my ryn in 2001 I lost 107 in the first 6 months and a total of 142 .. I though I was doing great... my younger brother had it Mar 12 of 2003 he has lost 216 in a year and no kidding looks like a model... my older brother had it Jan 28th of this year he is down over 60 pounds... he started close to 500 so he will be losing faster then I ever did ... It isn't as hard on me as it is on my mom who both boys live with who had the surgery in Nov of 2002 and is down 128 which is great but she see the rest of us and gets upset... Like I had written before I didn't know know I was pregnant until I was 6 months out and thought I was going through the big bounce... It is really hard to see everyone else losing when you are gaining.. baby or not. My mom at the anouncement Bruch had said her and my younger brother had just be talking about how much I was gain... Nice family huh.. well they were right... Please be kind to yourself... it is such a special time in your life. both the WLS journey AND the pregnancy. Noni > Okay... Noni -------------------------- Thanks Noni... I also think part of it that I had convinced my family that Gastric Bypass was a cure for me.. I was going to lose weight and finally be thin... We are going to be visiting my family in NJ at the end of May... I had fully expected to be ALOT smaller then I am now.... It is very conflicting... but I am not gaining.. and feeling fairly well.. except for the ALL day MS and very tired... I have 11 more lbs to get to 199.. - Mommy to: Noah - 10/14/02 - 31 weeker - 3lbs 11 oz edd November 18th m/c 7/04 Open RNY 12/3/03.... -49 lbs gone and counting
