Guest guest
Hi everybody! Pippin is doing great but I've got a question for all you GT families out there...How many ounces or cc's per day does your child take via the GT? We are in the process of changing Pippins formula to Peptamen Jr. and I've figured she gets 34 ounces per day via GT. I want the RX to read 44 ounces per day to make up for the " leftovers " in the bag and tubing. Does that make sense or am I crazy? How do you have your RX written? Because this is prescribed by our Ped, we are trying to figure it out together. I'm so lucky to have a great ped who lets me tell her exactly what I need. On another note, Pippin starts her feeding therapy program next Monday. In the literature sent to me for registration it stated many times how intensive it is...for the parent! It's a play based therapy for the children. So I'm optimistic about it. I hope it's really not to intensive for me. I think we're starting it at the best time, she really is starting to taste and swallow food and really is showing an interest in what we're eating. She has taken a few bites and swallows of refried beans, feta cheese, yogurt and she loves sucking on strawberries. So I have a goal that by the time she is 3 to only be on the pump at night. I hope everyone is doing well and getting over their winter illnesses. I know it was tough around here for a few weeks this winter but Team Lapish has survived another winter and is looking forward to spring. Guest guest
Hi Jenyfer My son Liam is 100% GTube fed, he is having approx 1150mls a day of his formula(neocate plus polyjoule) Liam also has 4/500mls water a day.I think the formula is about the same amount as Pippin has, if my conversions are correct. Liam has been putting on weight well with this(when he isnt sick). I would love to here how you go with the feeding programe, we havent got anything quite like that in Australia, we are hoping this year to do alot of work with speech therapists and get him eating something though. Hope to meet at the convention this year Jody(mum to Liam 2yrs 9mnths 21lb and 31.5 inches and Cameron 5yrs not RSS) > Hi everybody!
