Guest guest
Hi Barbara, I want to set the record straight. I wrote that I had the IR Docs do my PICC line, and that is not CORRECT. I was speaking to Malisa tonight and she informed me that the specialized IV Team of Nurses were the ones who placed my line, not doctors. She also told me that they do these day in and day out. They were really good too. The numbing shots were worse than the PICC line going in. Everyday after that I had the IV Nurses check on me and the Nutrition Support Team also came to visit me everyday. My PICC line is above the crook of my elbow, so I can bend my elbow with ease. That must have been very uncomfortable having your PICC placed in the crook of your elbow. Do you still have a PICC line or do you now have a central line? Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that I was wrong in my email when I was explaining who did my PICC Line placement. I am just so new to all of this, that I get easily confused :-[ Hugs, Ann-Marie At 10:17 AM 7/24/2005, you wrote: >My PICC line placements were usually quick and easy, probably took less than >15 minutes, and no more painful than putting in a standard IV at which I am >an old hand. Guest guest
No problem, Ann-Marie. We were spelling PICC as PICK for quite a while, he he. Takes time for the non-medical brain to absorb this stuff. I have NO line now, PICC or central. Just a J-tube. One extra opening is enough, thank you. :-) Hope you can keep gaining strength.
