Guest guest
Hi everyone. I just wanted to give a quick update on us. We have just recently moved, and things have been crazy around here. But, the good news is, we arein a bigger house and have much more room and aren't sitting on top of each other anymore! ) was weighed last Wednesday for the first time in three weeks. And, guess what! He gained a whole pound in three weeks. We are very excited since this is totally out of the ordinary for him! We are atributting it to a growth spurt! ) We are very proud. So, he is now up to 17 lbs. 14 oz., and he will be TWO YEARS OLD on the 23rd. Two weeks from now. I cannot believe it. He is still not walking yet, but can stand without holding on to anything for a very long time. He can even clap his hands or dance while not holding on to anything. His balance is great, he just doesn't have the confidence to walk yet. He has taken one step, but that is it. I know he can do it, he just has to figure it out for himself I guess. We are also having a little difficulty with our oldest son, . He is 4 1/2 years old, and seems to have a speech delay. I don't know if you would call it a delay, but his speech is not aas clear as it should be. We are going to have him screened to see if he does have a delay and if he does he will receive therapy through the school system here. But, our EI people are telling me that they think it is just an articulation problem, and if that is indeed the case, he won't qualify for therapy. He will have to " grow " out of it himself. In the mean time, he will be teased and picked on. Kids cannot understand him at all for the most part. We were wanting to get him into the EI preschool prgram, since is enrolled, but they say that is he has a speech problem, he cannot have a typical spot since they want the typical kids to be roll models fopr the special needs kids. I was not happy when I heard about this, since they called me to let me kow he had a spot, and then all of a sudden the speech thing came up! He really needs to be in preschool and get around other kids, since he hasn't been in daycare or around many kids much at all. Anyway, that is life here around the Rollison camp. Very hectic and frustrating, but I just wanted to let everyone know we are still around, just not on the computer much these days. I miss all of you and all of your advice. Hopefully I can get on more sson. Thanks for listening, Jodi R.
