Guest guest
I guess I'm just not good at this. I can't seem to get much interest in helping us this year. I am working on a Pampered Chef fundraiser that a friend is helping me with, but I can't seem to get anyone to come to my house for a demonstration! UGH! Not really sure what to do. Thought about going to the local paper with our story, info on MAGIC and help. I just don't do very well with this and am not sure how to go about doing it! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I am amazed at Leah's success, and so excited for them! WOW! You are incredible! Part of our problem too is that we are new to our area and don't know very many people, and well to put it nicely, our families are a bit caught up with their own lives, and other than our parents, no one else helps out. ( has 4 brothers, I have 2 sisters a brother and 5 step siblings). So, what do we do! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Guest guest
Hi Carmen, We were very lucky to have many people on board with us to make everything run smoothly. I would definatly start with a news paper story. I was really intimidated by that especially when you're exposing your life for the world to see! If you use someting along the lines of being new in town in the title it might catch more peoples attention? Maybe have something planned in advance and get that in the article also (bake sale, garage sale, raffle, etc.) A big help for us was also to plaster the town with posters about the event and a pic of Olivia on it so they could see that she's a real person. The best tip that we got was from ... Delegate, delegate, delegate!! Oh and delegate! We gave a lot of people just one or two tasks so if they couldn't do it then we didn't have to pick up much slack at all. Ask around for ideas and support (maybe the parents of the kids in Storm's class that you've gotten to know?) , the worst they can say is no, and that can often change into a yes when they see others jumping on board. You can e-mail me privatly if you have more questions, I dont' know how much help I can give but I sure will try! It's been an amazing journey for us and we're not even at the convention yet!! t-lfuller@ shaw.ca (without the space of course) Leah, mom to Ash 9 and Olivia 4.5 > I guess I'm just not good at this.
