The immune system is only one of these as you can tell by your daughter's myriad problems. I have a son who at one month started with repeated, chronic infections. A cold is a guarantee of severe, chronic bronchitis and probable pneumonia. We laugh about my annual bouts of pneumonia. Although we have MELAS with only 10% heterplasmy infections seem to be a part of the whole package. Your daughter is more severely affected than we, so her infections are not unexpected. It certainly does not make things easier to know the " why. " I can only pray for your daughter and you. The only thing we mitos can do is hold hands, give each other support and " Let go and let God " while we all work towards a faster more accurate diagnosis and true treatment of the cause rather than just the symptoms that arise. a Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
