Guest guest
Awww, but think of how much happier and amazed he will be when he can see things clearly! s. glasses for my little guy As if his little shoes and brace weren't enough, now is getting glasses. Luckily, we only have a little time left before his hours are reduced in the brace. I wonder what kind of looks we will get now! I have to say that he looks pretty cute though! Just thought I would share the news.
Guest guest
I LOVE LITTLE KIDS IN GLASSES!!! 8-) I think they're just adorable! A friend of mine just took her little guy in & he got glasses...he's 3, but I think he just looks too cute! Maybe 's just trying to up his pity quotient--he'll just be drowning in toys because you'll look at his brace & glasses & never be able to say " no " !!! > As if his little shoes and brace weren't enough, now is getting glasses. Guest guest
I know EXACTLY what you mean! got his glasses when he was 2 years old. He wears the glasses during the day and shoes at night! That's exactly how we felt. But he has done very well with them. How old is your little guy? We also went to the dentist the other day and he said he thinks is going to have a crossbite. Guess what? You guessed it he'll also have to wear something for that also- eventually. Oh well at least they are all things that can be fixed! Good luck with the glasses. By the way, we buy his frames at Wal-Mart because they have a one year warranty on the frames-even if you step on them--which I did. Guest guest
is 4 months old, so they are definitely an adventure. So far so good though! He just keeps looking around and smiling. It is funny. Our eye dr. will replace them up to 3 times a year for free as long as we bring in the broken ones, so that isn't to bad. I first thought, 4 months, he can't do much to them. Then, I realized he will have them until he is at least 11 months! He has already smashed them against his face and dragged them into his mouth. This was on accident, but I am sure it won't be in the future. had a small optic nerve when they did his hospital eye exam. He had follow-up appt. with the dr. When I mentioned that he looks at us more the further away we are, he checked near and far sightedness. He was pretty farsighted, which he said can also make the optic nerve appear smaller. We will have to wait and see if the glasses actually help or not. We are keeping our fingers crossed! Guest guest
That's okay, I laughed too-after I called and said, " You know that warranty on the frames--what does that include? " The clerk said, " Everything, even if you step on them. " I said, " Good, because that's what I just did! " I think we are over our year warranty now though--I don't ever sit them in the floor anymore! (I was changing his clothes). Pam and (8-12-01) > LOL! Guest guest
I hope they help. was developing a lazy eye. We just happen to take him to the eye doctor because he was doing a lot of fast blinking. Turned out, he just had a dry spot on his eye because it was winter time. But they did a full exam while he was there and found out he was on his way to developing lazy eye. They put him in glasses, we went back for a three month check up and his eye wasn't responding. We went back three months later and his eye started responding he was seeing well with the glasses. This was good because they were going to start patching his good eye if he had not started responding. Pam and (8-12-01) > > As if his little shoes and brace weren't enough, now is > getting glasses. Guest guest
it's amazing how much time you spend on the floor with babies isn't it? I just realized that... I've spend DAYS sitting on the floor in the past 7 years lol! Guest guest
That's great that they were able to find it. When I got glasses, I was just going to the eye dr. because my sister was complaining about her eyes. Turns out mine were worse than hers. We didn't take 's off today when he fell asleep on the floor because we thought he was going to wake right back up. I think he already knows they come off when he sleeps because he reached up and pulled them as hard as he could. Looks like I may be using our warranty more than I thought! Does still wear his glasses? They are not sure if 's will be permanent or not. Re: glasses for my little guy I hope they help. was developing a lazy eye. Guest guest
It seems like it would get easier to get up......when it seems to only get harder Pam and (8-12-01) > > > LOL! Guest guest
Yes, he still wears his and they also don't know if his will be permanent or not. I personally think they will. He has an atigmatism in one eye. I guess it's a possibility it could change, but his Dad (until he had RK surgery years ago) had horrible vision and his eight-year-old brothers glasses get stronger and stronger every year. It bothers the older one wearing glasses I think this is because he didn't get them until he was about six. He thinks he's so not cool with them. We went to the dentist the other day and the dentist said Josh will probably need braces when he gets older. He was so upset saying he would be the ultimate freak with glasses and braces. I told him maybe he could get contacts by then. I hope since got his glasses so early maybe they won't bother him so bad.
