Farmworker health insurance coverage

I am working on a planning project in Fresno County, California to see if we

can implement a health insurance coverage program for farmworkers.

I was wondering if any of you have experience with health insurance for

farmworkers and know of any models that we could look at. Issues that we

will be discussing during the planning process with our advisory group is

type of plan, benefit structure, premiums, copays and subsidies, provider

network and possible subset of farmworkers (e.g. harvesters, dairy workers,

etc.).

Hi ,

I did some focus groups with Cal. growers several years ago with Trula

LaCalle on FW health insurance as part of a larger discussion of their

health and health access issues. I would be happy to talk to you about

it and share the report. (TCE funded)

Have you thought about medical savings accounts? Employers say there

are real problems when you ask them to pay premiums, depending on what

type of worker you are targeting. I think I actually have transcripts

also.
