Your baby is okay even though you have an infection but they should of called

you and gotten you on something. AS for the vitamins, you should be taking a

prenantal along with your regular vitamins and I would go buy yourself some

over the counter ones while you wait for that dcotor. ALso pick up 800 mcg folic

acid tablets to help repvent birth defects. I take these along with my

regular vitamins and all my labe have come out great before and since pregnancy.

Good luck.

Well, don't feel so bad on the prenatal vitamin issue.....I had my first OB

visit today and he said to just continue taking the 2 chewable vitamins like I

have been since I had my WLS. I have been very yucky and sick feeling for

about a week now and he said the prenatal vitamins will only make me sicker. He

said that we will be fine. Hey, I lost 4 pounds!

Hey you guys! I need to vent as well. I went to my doc about 2

weeks ago. I had labs done and had not heard anything from them

regarding the lab work. So I called today and nurse tells me all my

labs look good except I have a bladder infection! I have no symptoms

and have no pain. She says the symptoms are burning urination (don't

have) and pressure and frequent urination (which of course I have--I

am almost 14 weeks). But here's my complaint. I have had a bladder

infection for over 2 weeks and the doc's office didn't call and tell

me until I called them and ASKED!!!!!! Is the infection hurting the

baby??? It has been growing and churning down there for 2 weeks. I

am a little stressed that the baby might have been affected. And now

they are (finally) putting me on a antibiotic.

I am also 14 weeks and I am NOT on a prenatal vitamin. I don't have

another appointment until July 27ish. And doc said, " Well bring in

all the vitamins you are taking and we will decide what you are

lacking and what we need to add. " But that isn't until I am about 16-

18 weeks. What if I am lacking some essential vitamin or supplement

and HAVE been all this time?!?!?! I am taking all my vitamins since

the surgery so it isn't like I am completely lacking supplements.

But still, what if there is something missing?????

Am I stressing over nothing? Is everything ok?

Ugh! That reeks of negligence! Are you able to get another test,

perhaps the lab got the first test wrong. Esp since you don't have

one of the telltale signs.

Regarding supplements, there's an excellent link on the home page, for

starters. Dunno if I place too much confidence in your providers...

Have any of you heard of your Dr. telling you to take a baby aspirin a day to

reduce chances of Miscarriage. My dr. told me to take one a day, but

everything I read says not to tkae Aspirin.

Any haelp would be appreciated..

Thanks,

Baby aspirin is often recommended for women who have blood clotting issues...

or a mild version of Factor V.

Aspirin is thins the blood.. helps reduces clotting.. hence reducing clots

from the Uterus to baby via umbilical cord... or so goes the theory.

My sisters are all Factor V with the Pro thobin (sp).. and should they wish

to attempt pregnancy.. they would require the Heperin or Lovenox shots.

I didnt think we were supposed to take aspirin because of the risk of gastric

ulcers?? I have never heard of it preventing a miscarriage myself.... this

should be an interesting thread.
