Guest guest
Ellen, Don't lurk please let us know how you get along with the RNY. How can Dr. Rutledge's colleague be considered in network and not Dr. Rutledge? The RNY may have a longer track record but the facts still prove the MGB is by far the best surgery. I know each of us must weigh the two surgeries and decide which is the best for us. I respect your decision and will not try to change your mind. I just want to make sure you have all the facts and then search your heart, after this then go to the surgeon of your choice. No matter what, I will always be here for you as well as all the others. Good luck. in SC Pre-op 386 lbs. Waiting on ins. approval If you see someone without a smile, Give them one of yours. If you and I should meet and You forget me, you have lost nothing. Guest guest
I want to thank those that replied when I did have a few questions. I posted a few days ago about hemmorrids and such. Well Monday evening after 11 went to bed. Got up to go to bathroom because I thought I had wet myself a little again. Well little wet with blood. It was pink for about half hour called labor and delivery to ask what it could be, thought may'be plug but was not sure was 2 dialated. Labor and Delivery said all they could do was suggest that I come in but if I wanted to just watch the bleeding I could. Went downstairs to talk to my mom and my water broke big time. Called back to say I was on my way. I drove the 45 minutes, was admitted and after 4 hours statred on induction meds. That was 4 am on Tuesday. 8:09 pm my daughter was born 36 weeks 4 days. She was 5 lbs 7 1/2, 18 inches long. I had only gainned one pound, she was evaluated broke back after a hour, than taken away later, kept in a warmer, brought back next day, weaned out of it, and we were sent home today. I wish everyone whos still waiting the best of luck baby #4 born 6-22-04 orginal date 7-16-04 girl Ann

Guest guest
Rose, I want to wish you a safe and happy new year as well! Congrats on your stats. What an amazement it is to wear single digit clothes. It just blows my minds. Especially when someone gives me a small shirt and I say oh my, that is not going to fit and wam, it does or in one case, the small was too big (can you believe that). Nonetheless, enjoy this journey and as far as you going back, I don't think that you will. Just continue to enjoy who you are and you will work at it to keep it off because you are going to find out if you have not already that you are so WORTH it. Hang in there and CONGRATS! Guest guest
Cecilia, I am 3 months out and right on target with you. I have lost 51.5 lbs. and feel like I am losing it really slow now. I have increased my exercise program. I am having nightmares that I am going to fail at this. I am doing everything right minus this last weekend, I caught myself asking to take small bites of my families food that I have not been eating. I am getting nervous. I made a pledge to exercise 7 days a week. I did not go through major surgery to fail. I am so nervous. Have you felt this way? Guest guest
Celcilia Do you like eggs? I love scrambled eggs with a little graded cheese. Or I make an omlet with graded vegs, and a little cheese, only eat a little (makes 3 meals for me). I also like cottage cheese with a little slice of can peach rinsed and cut up on the cottage cheese, or a little cottage cheese along with a string cheese, or a little cottage cheese with a little egg. Guest guest
Hi Laurie, I am also having problems with breakfast. I can't remember - are you the one that wrote you have problems eating in the morning? That is definetely my problem. I even have problems taking my vitamins in the morning - this morning I took them at 10 and nearly threw them back up! I talked to Dr. Fisher about it yesterday and he, like someone else, suggested to start where I am and then slowly move back the time I eat by 30 minutes until it is at a reasonable time. Eggs and cheese has been one of my favorites since going on stage 3, but making myself eat in the morning is soooooooooo horrible. I hope this works itself out. Guest guest
Hi Barbara, yes I have always had trouble eating in the morning. But for me it is irritable bowel syndrome. I've had it since I was 8 years old or so. I get diarrhea if I eat too soon after getting up. I normally wait 1-2 hrs, then I'm fine...usually. The surgery seemed to throw me into a big flare up, then I had the big D all the time, no matter what I did. Anyway, nausea was never really a problem for me. Sorry I wasn't much help.
